Furthermore At Heritage House offers a unique and safe place from where to discover and explore the wonderful area of Zululand post-COVID-19. The reason being is that we offer a small Bed and Breakfast with only 5 rooms, all packages offered are in house and therefore we are able to ensure that all transfers, vehicles, and excursions are pre deep cleaned and all staff are at all times screened. The Bed and Breakfast have multiple areas with hand sanitizer and deep cleaning is maintained at all times.

Stay & Safari
Considering a Safari while in St Lucia, At Heritage House offers daily departures. Big 5 Safaris to Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Park, Wildlife Tours into iSimangaliso Wetland Park. Hippo & Croc Boat cruises on the St Lucia Estuary, Night Drive Safaris and Turtle Tours.
All of our Safaris are conducted in Open Game Drive Safari Vehicles, the only way to experience a true Safari. The Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Park is the oldest proclaimed game reserve in Africa and home to the Big 5. Our Big 5 Safari's depart at 5:00 am, Breakfast, traditional South African Barbecue, refreshments and conservation levies all included. All you need to take along is a Hat, Sunblock and ofcourse a Camera the rest we will do for you.
Isimangaliso Wetland Park Tours depart at 8:00 am after a scrumptious breakfast At Heritage House. Discover why the area is South Africa's very first world heritage site. Home to the African 3 or 4 depending on when the Elephants decide to visit us from the Western Shores of iSimangaliso Wetland Park. This tour includes game viewing and the opportunity to snorkel in a protected bay at Cape Vidal (weather permitting)(Lunch Picnic and Refreshments incl).
Venture onto the St Lucia Estuary and enjoy the largest Hippo Population in South Africa on one of our Shoreline Boat's. These 15 seater Vessels offer you the very best when it comes to sightings and ofcourse the Hippos. Should you be interested do let us know so that we can book the Sunset Trip as this is by far the very best trip to enjoy.
How can a African Safari ever be complete without experiencing a Night Drive Safari, journey deep into the bush and hear it come alive. Leopard, Buffalo, Elephant, Rhino and many more species may be witnessed on our nightly escapades.

At Heritage House is centrally situated within St Lucia, walking distance to Town is 2 minutes, with a multitude of shops and restaurants their truly is no need for a car. Estimated distance to the beach is approximately 1,4 km. Pristine beaches as far as the eye can see. Please do bear in mind that the Hippos do frequent our Guest House and caution must be taken at all times.

Frequently Asked Questions
St Lucia is small and most accommodations are within walking distance to town. The outer-lying properties are surrounded by a green belt that is managed by KZN Wildlife. Therefore being closer to town and being able to walk could possibly be the better area to stay.
St Lucia is approximately 250km North of Durban. Easily accessed by the N2 motorway. This is a toll road and is very well managed.
78km being a 45-minute drive on the N2.
St Lucia is situated within the province of KwaZulu Natal. It is the North-Eastern part of South Africa and offers a tropical year-round climate.
Hippos do roam the streets at night, care needs to be taken should you come across these amazing creatures. Refrain from getting close and if possible when walking about at night please do take a flashlight along. During our stay in St Lucia, there has only been 1 incident with a Hippo.
Not at all, one has numerous accommodation establishments to choose from which offer varying budgets.
This would entirely depend on what it is that you would like to do or witness during your stay in St Lucia.
Temperatures do vary and February is by far the warmest of them all.
Migrations of various animals species take place during winter and summer and therefore it is paramount that you enquire as to what it is that you may enjoy during your stay prior to arrival.
